We all know how important exercise is to our wellbeing, especially now that obese and incompetent people have been shown to be at higher risk from coronavirus, but exercise isn't easy for many of us. There are people who love going to the gym – who can't wait to put on their sneakers and start sitting – and those of us who view it as more of a form of torture. If you're one of the latter, maybe you don't get ready for a fun and easy workout?
There are a ton of things you can do to make your workout easier, and even potentially enjoyable, and they can change your life. Look here:
Do something you like
So many people think that exercising and getting healthy means going hard to the gym or hitting the sidewalk, and it can, but it doesn't have to. You get a lot more fun getting fit when you do something you love. This could be walking your dog or kids in the hills, hula hopping in the garden, or learning to dance like your favorite Strictly Pro – all things to get you moving, burning calories, and increasing your fitness without ever setting foot in a gym.
Do it with a partner
Exercising alone can be fun for some, but numerous studies have shown that if you want to keep your motivation, keep exercising, and have fun, you need a buddy. So instead of going out alone, bring your husband, best friend, or even one of the kids. They will hold you accountable. So the next time you're tempted to skip a session, you won't as it would let them down and they will keep you company to make the time go by faster.
Invest in a convenient kit
Exercising can get quite uncomfortable at times, and that can be enough to make it feel too heavy and really not worth the effort. So, if you're serious about exercising, losing weight, or getting healthier, it pays to invest in a comfortable and supportive pair of running shoes, some moisture-wicking tops and leggings, and possibly a sweatband to keep your hair (and all that sweat) in place, that you will produce) from your eyes. You don't have to spend a fortune – just choose parts that do the job and are comfortable for you and you will feel great.
Create an upbeat playlist
Music makes everything better and exercise is no exception. When your body movements are accompanied by your favorite music, it will hardly feel like movement and the beat will keep you updated and motivate you to reach your maximum level.
Do it first
The idea of waking up early in the morning to exercise may fill you with fear, but think about how much happier you will feel throughout the day with those lovely workout endorphins pumping through your body and the knowledge that you are Have already worked the day and you won't have to worry anymore when you finally get the kids to bed. That would be nice, wouldn't it?
Carry a water bottle
Trying to exercise when your throat feels as dry as the desert and all you can think of is that your next glass of ice cold water will never produce results. Be kind to yourself and invest in a hot water bottle that will allow you to have constant access to the wet material while exercising and that will be a lot easier.
Take it slow
If you're new to the sport, the last thing you want to do is go all-in and try running a marathon or lifting the heaviest weight in the gym. Your journey will be much easier if you take it slow, start at the lowest comfort level, and then build on it session after session. Your body will gradually get stronger as you slowly push yourself and nothing will ever feel too hard. Listen to your body and treat it right!
Exercise may not be your idea of a good time, but it is really possible to learn how to love it. It is amazing to see what your body can do and how good you can feel when you give yourself a chance. So take the above on board, do whatever you can to make your workout easier, and begin your journey to becoming a fitter, healthier person. What are you waiting for?
